Job Description

Job Title: Technical Purchaser

Company: Prima (Construction / Engineering / Design-Build)

Location: Lemon Square Building, EDSA, Quezon City

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM

(May require site visits and flexible hours as needed)

Job Summary

The Technical Purchaser is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring technical materials, equipment, and services required for construction and engineering projects. The role ensures timely availability of materials that meet technical specifications, quality standards, and budget requirements.

Key Responsibilities/Procurement & Sourcing

  • Source and purchase construction materials, tools, equipment, and technical services.
  • Evaluate supplier quotations based on technical compliance, cost, delivery, and quality.
  • Prepare and process Purchase Requests (PR), Purchase Orders (PO), and related documentation.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers and subcontractors.

Technical Coordination

  • Coordinate closely with Engineering, Project Management, and QA/QC teams to verify technical specifications.
  • Ensure all procured items comply with approved plans, drawings, BOQs, and project standards.
  • Assist in material submittals, approvals, and technical clarifications with suppliers.

Cost Control & Documentation

  • Monitor purchase costs against approved budgets and project allocations.
  • Maintain updated procurement logs, supplier database, and delivery trackers.
  • Ensure proper documentation for deliveries, warranties, manuals, and certifications.

Logistics & Inventory

  • Coordinate delivery schedules with site teams and warehouse personnel.
  • Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages, overstocking, or delays.
  • Address delivery issues, discrepancies, and non-conforming materials.

Vendor Management

  • Develop and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors.
  • Conduct supplier performance evaluation and recommend accreditation or delisting.
  • Identify alternative suppliers to ensure continuity of supply.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Logistics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years experience in technical purchasing or procurement (construction industry preferred).
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, tools, equipment, and technical specifications.
  • Experience in supplier negotiation and cost comparison.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and basic procurement documentation.
  • Strong coordination, organizational, and analytical skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in design-build or engineering projects.
  • Familiarity with BOQs, drawings, and technical submittals.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of local suppliers and construction market pricing.
