Job Summary

The General Accounting Associate will manage day-to-day financial transactions with a focus on the unique demands of the logistics industry. You will be responsible for ensuring that our carriers are paid accurately, our clients are billed promptly, and our internal trucking expenses (fuel, maintenance, and permits) are meticulously tracked.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounts Receivable (Brokerage & Freight): Generate and send accurate invoices to clients. Follow up on aging accounts to ensure healthy cash flow.
• Carrier Settlements: Verify carrier invoices against agreed-upon rates in our system. Ensure all charges are documented and approved before payment.
• Trucking Operations Support: Track expenses, including fuel reconciliations, vehicle maintenance costs, and driver payroll variables.
• Account Reconciliation: Perform daily/weekly bank reconciliations.
• Compliance & Documentation: Assist in organizing document filings and ensuring all are up to date.
• Month-End Support: Assist the Accounting Officer and Finance Head in closing the month by preparing journal entries and departmental expense reports.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: 1–3 years of accounting experience. Experience in Logistics, Freight Forwarding, or Trucking is a major plus. Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.
• Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with logistics terminology (BOL, POD, Carrier Rate Confirmations, and Detention) is highly preferred.
• The “Logistics Brain”: You need a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment; the ability to spot a discrepancies from a mile away.
