Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Auditor with a strong accounting background to review, analyze, and verify construction project costs, contracts, and financial records. The ideal candidate is an accounting graduate with relevant experience who can ensure compliance, cost accuracy, and financial transparency across construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit construction project costs, invoices, change orders, and payment applications
- Review contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders for financial compliance
- Verify labor, material, and equipment costs against project budgets
- Analyze cost reports, job cost ledgers, and financial statements
- Identify discrepancies, overbilling, and cost inefficiencies
- Ensure compliance with company policies, contract terms, and regulatory requirements
- Prepare detailed audit reports and communicate findings to management
- Work closely with project managers, accountants, and external auditors
- Support budget reviews, cost forecasts, and risk assessments
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a related field
- Proven experience in construction auditing, accounting, or project cost control
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, job costing, and billing processes
- Proficiency in accounting software and Excel (cost tracking, reconciliations, analysis)
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to interpret financial data and construction documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
