Job Description

Position Overview

The Kitchen Purchasing Officer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and monitoring all goods and supplies required for the restaurant’s kitchen operations. This role ensures that all purchases are cost-effective, timely, and compliant with company standards, while maintaining accurate records for accountability and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and purchase kitchen goods, ingredients, and supplies from approved vendors, including groceries and wet markets.
• Monitor market prices and negotiate with suppliers to ensure cost efficiency.
• Track and record all purchases, receipts, and invoices for accurate documentation.
• Prepare and process Purchase Orders (PO) in line with company procedures.
• Coordinate with the Head Chef and Kitchen Team to anticipate supply needs.
• Ensure timely delivery of goods to avoid disruption in kitchen operations.
• Maintain supplier relationships and evaluate vendor performance.
• Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, expenses, and variances.
• Comply with company policies and food safety standards in all procurement activities.

Qualifications

• Able to assist with transporting supplies as needed.
• Willing and able to purchase from groceries and wet markets.
• Experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain (preferably in F&B or hospitality).
• Proficient in MS Excel or Google Sheets.
• Knowledgeable in preparing and processing Purchase Orders (PO).
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work under time-sensitive conditions.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
