Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient assessment and Care
• Verify patient identity and dialysis prescription
• Assess patients’ vital signs and medical history before, during and after dialysis treatment.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and complications during treatment.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control measures.
• Provide emotional support and patient education on dialysis care, diet and lifestyle adjustment
• Hemodialysis Treatment Administration
• Prepare and operate dialysis machines according to patient requirement
• Safely insert and remove vascular access (fistulas, grafts and catheter)
• Safely administer prescribed medications per doctor’s order and ensure accurate documentation.
• Equipment Handling and Maintenance
• Ensure that dialysis machines are properly sanitized and calibrated
• Follow strict infection control protocols to prevent cross-contamination
• Report technical issues with dialysis equipment to HD technician for troubleshooting.
• Emergency Management and Response
• Recognize and respond to complications such as hypotension, cramping, or fluid overload
• Perform emergency interventions, including CPR when necessary
• Properly coordinate with Nephrologist and other healthcare professionals in critical situations.
• Document and Compliance
• Maintain accurate records of dialysis treatments and patient progress.
• Ensure compliance of hospital protocols, hospital policies and healthcare regulations.
• Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
• Patient and Family Education
• Educate patient and families on dialysis procedures, dietary restrictions, and medication adherence.
• Provide guidance on home care and lifestyle changes for better kidney health
• Other duties
• Perform other duties that may assigned from time to time

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, licensed Nurse. Additional; certification in Hemodialysis Nursing is preferred.
• Experience: At least 1 to 2 years of relevant experience

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in operating dialysis machines and handling vascular access.
• Strong knowledge of nephrology, fluid balance and infection control.
• Familiarity with emergency procedures for dialysis complications.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certified; ACLS preferred

Soft Skills:

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and patient-care skills
• Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations

Work Environment

Work Schedule: Rotational shifts including weekends, nights and holidays

Reports to: Hemodialysis Head Nurse

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Php20,00.00 – Php26,00.00 per month
