Job Description

Position Title: Area Sales Officer – Visayas

Department: Sales

Reports To: OIC Business Division / Operations Manager

Work Setup: Field-based with regular reporting

Field Work: 5 days per week (client visits, route selling, prospecting, and are coverage)

Admin Day: 1 day per week or as needed (reporting, coordination, meetings, and admin tasks).

Main Office Reporting: Quarterly

Position Overview

The Area Sales Officer is responsible for driving sales growth within assigned territories by generating new leads, expanding customer accounts, and strengthening market presence. This role focuses on the baking and food industry, requiring strong industry knowledge, excellent customer engagement skills, and the ability to achieve sales targets consistently.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Generation & Market Expansion

  • Identify, prospect, and convert new leads to increase market reach.
  • Develop and execute area-specific sales plans to achieve monthly and annual quotas.
  • Expand product placement through new accounts such as bakeries, bakery chains, distributors, food manufacturing companies, and related businesses.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat orders and upselling opportunities.

2. Territory & Account Management

  • Conduct regular client visits, area mapping, and route planning.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends within the assigned territory.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (marketing, logistics, finance) to ensure on-time deliveries and customer satisfaction.

3. Product Knowledge & Demo Support

  • Provide basic product demonstrations and explain product applications, technical features, and benefits.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team during product demos, events, and trade shows.

4. Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare accurate weekly and monthly sales reports, leads updates, and pipeline forecasts.
  • Ensure all customer information, transactions, and feedback are properly documented.

Qualifications

Experience & Industry Background

  • At least 5 years of experience in the sales field.
  • Sales experience in the baking and food industry is a must (ingredients, supplies, confectionery, food manufacturing, bakery products, etc.).
  • Experience handling territories, distributors, bakery chains, or food service accounts is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong lead-generation and prospecting skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer handling abilities.
  • Results-driven and target-oriented.
  • Knowledge of area mapping and route planning.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be willing to travel within assigned territory.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Food Technology, or related field preferred.

  • Achievement of monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Number of new leads generated and converted.
  • Area coverage efficiency and customer visit frequency.
  • Customer satisfaction and account retention.
