Job Description
The NOC Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Network Operations Center, ensuring continuous monitoring, availability, and reliability of all network infrastructure and services. This role supervises the NOC team, enforces operational standards, handles incident escalations, and coordinates with various technical departments to maintain high service performance and client satisfaction.
The NOC Supervisor is a key leadership position that requires strong technical expertise, analytical skills, and effective team management to meet the company’s service delivery commitments and SLA targets.
I. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Network Monitoring & Operations Control
- Ensure 24/7 monitoring of network devices, leased lines, servers, and communication links.
- Oversee real-time monitoring dashboards, alarms, and alert notifications.
- Validate and prioritize alerts, ensuring timely response according to severity levels.
- Verify that network thresholds and alert configurations are properly set and updated.
- Coordinate maintenance windows and scheduled downtimes in alignment with the Engineering and Field Operations teams.
B. Incident Management & Escalation
- Lead the first response team during incidents, outages, or network degradation.
- Manage the full incident lifecycle: detection, classification, troubleshooting, resolution, closure, and documentation.
- Ensure strict adherence to SLAs/OLAs for response and resolution times.
- Facilitate escalation to Level 2/3 Support, Network Engineers, or Vendor Support when required.
C. Team Leadership & Administrative Functions
- Supervise daily activities of NOC Engineers and technical staff during assigned shifts.
- Prepare team schedules, shift rotations, attendance monitoring, overtime requests, and leave approvals.
- Conduct regular team meetings, coaching sessions, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions where necessary.
- Identify training needs and coordinate skill development initiatives for team members.
- Ensure personnel compliance with company policies, data security standards, and operational protocols.
D. Documentation, Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure all incidents, tickets, alerts, and troubleshooting activities are properly logged in the ticketing system.
- Maintain up-to-date network documentation, inventory lists, configuration logs, and process manuals.
- Produce daily shift reports, weekly network performance summaries, monthly incident analytics, and KPI dashboards.
- Document recurring issues and recommend procedural changes to reduce incident volume.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, ITIL best practices, and internal audit requirements.
E. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Engineering, Provisioning, Field Operations, and Customer Support departments.
- Communicate network issues, scheduled tasks, and service advisories to internal teams and customers when necessary.
- Collaborate on project deployments, new circuit activations, and network upgrades.
- Assist in client escalations requiring deeper network insight and technical clarification.
